Bella Tean (Pilar Tena Cavetas)

Pilar Tena Cabetas (Bella Tean) was born in Zaragoza.

Her artistic career starts in this city as a publicity drafstwoman. Later, she goes to the Academy, completing her formation in portrait, watercolours, and photography and image. Led by the hand of Eugenio Estrada, she studies in depth the language of children’s drawings.

In the eighties Pilar Tena Cabetas she goes to Barcelona with a grant from the Diputación Provincial de Zaragoza, in order to be trained in Visual Perception, Dynamics of the colour and Gestalt of the shape with the artist César López Osornio, a professor fron the University of Osaka, Japan. Hence her first period of Geometric Abstraction with the group “Arte Vivo”.

In the nineties she spends some years in Palermo (Italy), as part of a group of professionals in the different artistic disciplines, who carry out the project “Education through Art”. From that moment on, she studies in depth art as language in childhood and adulthood, and therapy in Art.

Later on, she works in international projects in the community of the Mapuche Indians in Neuquen (Argentina).

Mumbay and Kamyakumari (India) in order to make a documentary:  “Sapne”- “Dreams”, in which she participates as a production and stills photography assistant and with which she reaches the final at the “Canal Plus” awards.

She conducts workshops about painting in order to facilitate creativity in childhood: “Children express themselves”. She has also made the DVD of the book “Babies and Cubs” and workshops about artistic creativity for adults.

  • Faculty of Medicine, 3rd grade students. Autonomous University of Madrid.
  • Since 2003 she develops her educational project – Culture through art in Villanueva de Gallego. Zaragoza.

Lectures on “The evolutionary development in children’s drawings from scribbling to adolescence”.

Speaker at a round table on “The importance of art in welfare and health”.

She participated in the exhibition, colective. E.Miramar Sitges, Barcelona. Meeting with Contemporary Art. Painters and Spanish Sculptors. With the work of Antonio López, M.Barceló, Casamada, Chillida, Cuixart, Dalí, Genoves, Feito, Oteiza, Tàpies.

Her work has a presence in the University of Zaragoza, the Museum of Contemporary Art of Abano Terme – Padova (Italy) and the Centre Mariano Mesonada of Zaragoza.

Finalist in several competitions.

She has exhibited her work in Bordeaux, Pavie, (France), Miami – Florida, (U.S.A),  Abano Terme – Padova (Italy), Barcelona, Alicante, Tarragona, Aragón  and Navarra. It is also present in private collections in Zaragoza, Barcelona, Madrid, Argentina, Italy, San Francisco (U.S.A.) and   London.
